Smallpox is the only human disease ever eradicated. Let’s make Polio the second. North Bay Rotary, North Bay-Nipissing Rotary and Rotaract will be joining the fight against this disease on Rotary’s World Polio Day – October 24th.

Join the cause on October 24th at 5:30 pm. Walk the North Bay waterfront starting at the Rotary Gazebo wearing red “End Polio Now” ponchos to promote the awareness of Polio. Ponchos cost $10 and $5 goes towards the cause. Try to wear red if you don’t purchase a poncho.

The walk will circle around to the Grande Event Centre (next to Cecil’s) where chili for $5 a bowl will be served with the proceeds will be go towards the cause. There will also be a cash bar.

Rotarians and Rotaractors will also be painting pinkies for $1 donations. [When a child is vaccinated, they have a purple stamp put on their little finger – giving them a Purple Pinkie.]

In addition, we will be live streaming Polio Day Events taking place around the world.

How can you triple your impact? Thanks to a 2-to-1 match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, every donation made to Rotary to end polio will be tripled. Join us on October 24thand help us continue to make a difference!

Thank you, Rotary

UNICEF and the World Health Organization have produced a short video thanking Rotary and its members for protecting the world’s children against polio for more than 30 years.

Every dollar you have raised and every drop of vaccine you have helped administer have brought us one step closer to a polio-free world. This video is a powerful reminder of the positive impact Rotarians have made around the world.

Rotary releases a new online giving platform

Making a contribution to end polio just got easier thanks to Rotary's newly upgraded online giving platform. You can now make a gift quickly and securely from your computer, tablet or smartphone. The new platform allows you to make donations in your local currency and, when  you're signed in to My Rotary, keeps track of your giving record.

Through the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, any contribution you make will be tripled, increasing Rotary's ability to help vulnerable children around the world be polio-free.
