Kevin Oschefski, Country 90.5 FM morning host, was honoured at special gala on November 7th, for his many years of service to the community, including Redpath’s Rotary4Kids, CIBC Run for the Cure, and YMCA Fill The Bus, surrounded by family, friends and supporters.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of North Bay, Kevin was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow award, the highest recognition a Rotary club can bestow upon an individual.
Bill Hagborg, Rotary Past District Governor, stated “Kevin, you were selected to receive this recognition because the Rotary club believes that your life exemplifies the humanitarian and educational objectives of The Rotary Foundation. We thank you for demonstrating in your life and vocation a commitment to helping persons in need here in our community and surrounding area”.
The evening also served as a fundraising event, towards the advancement of one of Rotaries causes – Fighting Disease, with donations split between Rotary’s ongoing initiative to eradicate polio worldwide, now closer than ever to completion, and the Cancer Society’s efforts to cure breast cancer.
Together, these organizations reflect Rotary’s broader mission: “To advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.”
