ImageRotary TV Bingo Committee Chair Don Coutts announced today that just under $1.2 million in funding has been donated to various Rotary projects and activities in the North Bay area as of June 30th of last year - thanks to Rotary’s loyal weekly players.  The committee goal is to generate $40,000 in sales for the current fiscal year, ending June 30, 2015.

The prize money to bingo winners in the North Bay and Callander area amounts to $105,000 annually.

Proceeds from the Rotary bingos have largely been targeted towards supporting children and youth with special needs in the community and surrounding areas.  Funds have been provided to Nipissing Association of Disabled Youth (NADY), One Kids Place, Rotary Club’s Children’s Committee and Rotary’s Camp Tillicum.  Others who have received funding included the North Bay and Area Community Foundation, North Bay Literacy Council, Nipissing University, Summer in The Park, Wildcat Special Olympics and Armed Forces Day.

The Rotary TV bingo was launched in November of 1993, and has been airing on TVCOGECO Cable 12, since September 2005.  The fundraiser continues to be one of the top generators of charitable funding for the Club.

Rotary’s TV Bingo airs at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays, with a break in the summer for July and August.  Players can check the TV schedule for any changes at www.tvcogeco.com.  Bingo envelopes (5 cards) are $6 each and can be purchased at 28 retail outlets in North Bay and Callander, including Mac’s, Lucky 13, and Wingate Lotteries (Northgate).  The complete listing is available at www.rotaryclubofnorthbay.org
