The Rotary Club of North Bay has distributed a total of $32,400 to 4 school boards and Nbisiing Secondary School, supporting breakfast and nutrition programs at some 27 schools.

The Near North District School Board received $12,500, Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board $8,500, Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord $5,300, Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario $4,100 and Nbisiing Secondary School $2,000.

Research proves it and renowned organizations, such as the World Food Program, confirm that breakfast and nutritional programs are a significant and impactful way to support a child’s education and development. These programs may focus on children, but their impact ripples over to families, schools, and entire communities.

“The Rotary Club of North Bay is pleased to provide support for the Nutritional Programs to so many schools here in North Bay and surrounding communities” stated Jeff Hobbs, club president.  Hobbs added, “much of club’s focus continues to be on supporting numerous youth initiatives and programs.”

Paula Mann, Director of Education, Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, stated, “Our team at NPSCDSB is deeply grateful for the Rotary Club of North Bay's generous donation. This contribution will directly benefit students across our Board by supporting food security and nourishing them in body, mind, and spirit."

“The generous donation from Rotary Club of North Bay demonstrates a deep commitment to the well-being of our youth", states Mrs. Tina Legault-Ouellet, Director of Education at Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord. "Thanks to this support, we can ensure equitable access to healthy food through our breakfast and nutrition programs, which is essential to students' well-being and learning. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their dedication to our school community.”
