A spirited evening of entertainment sponsored by the Rotary Club of North Bay.

The Gift of Language show at the Capitol Centre May 23, 2006 featured a variety of local musical talent topped off by former RI President and sometimes Las Vegas entertainer Richard King.  The North Bay entertainers included the Porter Highland Dancers, Cafe Chantant, The Young Bucks, The Davedi Choir, Chad's Fiddle and Stepdance, and the Performer Youth Company.  The Davedi Choir is well-known in the area and their Italian music was professionally performed and well received.  The balance of the local segment featured young performers.  Their presentations confirmed that this area has tremendous local talent and teachers to provide guidance and high quality instruction.  All performances delighted the evening audience.  Richard King and his local piano accompanist entertained the gathering with lively and sentimal familiar songs.  King has a strong baritone singing voice that delighted everyone.  His humourous anecdotes of Las Vegas and trips abroad were particularly entertaining.  A worthwile evening of entertainment.  We appreciate the efforts of Dick Tafel and his organizing committee for making it all happen.
