The Grand Opening of the Miskwaadesi Site was attended by a few of our members and some of the feedback was:  time sensitive, good community representation, meaningful reflections.... it is a beautiful site so if you have not visited it yet, take a walk along the path and stop by!

We welcomed our District Governor, Steve Wilkinson and Assistant District Governor, Louise Bergeron to our meeting on Monday.  DG Steve presented some key items on the declining membership in our part of the world versus great increases on the other side of the planet.  He shared some ideas of how to help our clubs retain and increase our members to continue the great work we do in the community both locally and internationally.  We had a chance to hear how Rotary was a part of his life since the day he was born and how his passion for Rotary had led him to his current role.  ADG Louise will be visiting our club in the coming months to help us with our visioning which will help with our membership.  I almost forgot about the cake - thank you for reminding me - there was enough left over to treat the staff at Cecil's......  We visited the Theraputic Pool at the YMCA, Miskwaadesi site, Pollinator Garden as well as the Splash Pad and Playground.  We were also joined by two ducks that seemed to follow us around ..... It was such a proud day to be able to showcase what this Club has done and THANK YOU for all that YOU have done to make these amazing places come to fruition.

Important note:  please let me know if you will be attending the October 7th off-site meeting at Capital Centre as the lunch will be catered at a cost of $20 so we do need to know numbers for the meal.  Please send me an email or text to advise if you will be attending.  If you put your name on the list I passed around on Monday, you do not need to notify me again - I have you marked down.

Thank you so much to those who gave for the Happy Twoonies!  We will be collecting the Happy Twoonies for two more Monday meetings and the funds from all 4 Monday's will be going to Kevin Oschefski's fundraising for Breast Cancer Research.  Kevin has been such a great partner to this club and instrumental in helping us raise funds for our Rotary4Kids campaign. We were more than happy to support him in his event - walking from North Bay to Sudbury.  If you would like more information or wanted to make a pledge/donation on your own, here is the website:
