WEEKLY BULLETIN
September 11, 2024
I am glad to see Summer has not left us after all....still time to do that last minute gardening!  We have had a bear roaming our property this week (making a bit of a mess) so just want to make sure you keep an eye out and take caution when you are out and about!

The Membership Committee is happy to announce our newest member, Eunice Olawayseun.  We will have a date for Eunice's official induction and vocational talk soon.  Welcome, Eunice!

Our speaker this past Monday was Mark Lyons.  He gave a powerful talk on his reasons for supporting Autism programs in the area and shared his personal experiences.  Mark's son, Jack, passed away in April of 2022 and Mark continues to educate the community on Autism.  He talked about the "Buddy Bike", One Kids Place, Camp Tillicum, Jack Lyons Socks and future plans as well.  You can purchase socks by emailing Mark at marklyons69@hotmail.com.

We received three wonderful Thank You cards from members in the community.  The cards were passed around at the meeting and show what kind of impact our Club has on the community.  One card that came from Leanne and the team at the North Bay YMCA and stated "together we have insured so many local kids have the opportunity to enjoy amazing camp experiences."

Another card from Mary Marrs regarding the new Rotary Playground.  She said "I was sad when I had to drag them(her grandchildren) away".  She went on to thank us for both the SplashPad and Playground.

Hope you have a great weekend and see you on Monday.  Don't forget this weekend (Saturday, September 14th) is the Welcome to North Bay event that is being put on by the City of North Bay and both our club and Nipissing club members will be there - stop by the Rotary booth!
Thank you for all you do!
