We had Scott Huycke, Program Manager and Trever Leblond, Northern Pines Supervisor give us an update on the Crisis Centre and how much the need for this service has grown over the years.  The program is an incredible help to our community and the different phases that are in place to help with transitioning those in need; making it a safe place to access medical, employment and sense of self-worth back.  Thank you to all those involved in this work!  If you would like more information on what their work is, here is the link for the website:

Jack Lockhart gave us some great insight into Peter Hudson, Past President (1978/1979) of the Rotary Club of North Bay, and Past District Governor (1990/1991) of Rotary District 7010, who passed away in Toronto on Friday, October 4TH, 2024. Peter was a member of the Rotary Club of North Bay from 1969 to 2012.  He is remembered by many as a dedicated Rotarian whose interests were in International Service and for getting important work done in the community as well.

Our club is trying to get back into the Youth Exchange program and we have an information night scheduled for October 28th starting at 7:00 PM at the North Bay Library.  Invitations have gone out to all the local high schools including Mattawa and Sturgeon Falls so if you wanted to learn more about the program or if you are able to give 3 or more months in taking in an exchange student from another country, please come out for more information.  Please also pass on this information to any friends/family that may have a teen interested in taking part in the exchange or have a family/friend able to give 3 months in housing an exchange student.  This is one of the most valuable programs that Rotary has.  Our club has had many exchange students both inbound and outbound over the years and the experience is priceless!

If you wanted more information on the Youth Exchange program, please go to this link.  It has some amazing personal stories as well.
