WEEKLY BULLETIN
January 23, 2025
The days are getting longer and the sun is shining right now.  Thank you to Don Wheeler for his request to "lighten up our meetings" and our group did just that at Monday's meeting.  The bright shirts and smiles made us all warm inside if not outside.

On Monday, January 27th we will have two of our newer members - Gaurav and Lakshmi inducted and give their vocational talks.  Come out on Monday to Cecil's Brewhouse to get to hear a bit more about them.  There will be Zoom available for those that cannot attend in person.  Here is the Zoom link information in case any of you are not able to get in through the web site link:

We had Gianna Consalvo from Rotary International give us a presentation on Rotary Fellowships.  I have attached here the links to the website that can give you all the information on this fellowship work by Rotarians around the world.  Its a great way to meet others that share your passions / interests and get involved in fellowship outside of our club.

The theme for February is Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.  The speaker for February 3rd will be Grant Churcher, a retired Air Force chaplain.  Grant has experience in initiating Peace Building and Conflict Resolution initiatives.  He will surely enlighten us on how to bring about a more peaceful world.

Thank you to those that have signed up for the North Bay Chamber of Commerce After 5 programs.  We do have spots available and can have more than 1 or 2 Rotarians attend.  This is a great event to talk to other business people in our area and promote the work that Rotary does.  Make sure you wear your Rotary bling and enjoy some fellowship.  Here is the website that gives you more information:

February 10th is the Great Student Awards and our meeting will take place in the larger room so enter off Main Street.  It will be another wonderful event to celebrate the amazing young people we have in our community.  Come out to show your support to these great young people!

February 17th is Family Day so no meeting - enjoy the day with your families.

I am flying out to the Dominican on Monday as part of the HHART trip and will bring back an update on our work there.  We are building a school in one of the poorest villages and setting up the teacher and material needed to help with getting the children some education.  We will also have medical and dental clinics as well as some great community relations building.  I strongly urge all members to take part in one of Rotary's international humanitarian trips - it is worth it!  We do amazing work within our community and doing work internationally really opens your mind and heart to life outside of our own comfort zones.
