We are coming to the end of August! The summer is just racing by and I hope you have all had a chance to enjoy some great family time or plan some in the coming days!

The meeting on August 19th was attended by only 14 members but we did hear from District Gov. Sandi Campbell on her plans and congratulations to our club on a great past year. We had some committee updates as well as a vote to have our amended bylaws approved. We had 14 of 14 members present approve the new changes which will take effect as of September 2, 2025. The revised bylaws are in keeping with ensuring the fiduciary duty of the board & to ensure the funds entrusted to us by the members and donors is kept safe and secure. The motion to accept the revisions to the bylaws was made by Ghislaine Cote and seconded by Bob Cunningham; this will serve as a record of the vote and approval of the changes. The revised bylaws will be published to our documents in Clubrunner. If anyone would like a copy of the bylaws and cannot access Clubrunner, please contact either Jeff Hobbs or Grace Doiron and we will get you a copy.

Our Club was awarded the Rotary International Excellence Award. This award is the most significant award a Rotary Club can achieve. Here is a quote from Rotary International President, Stephanie A. Urchick shared: “This past year, your club demonstrated a commitment to achieve its goals, which ultimately helps strengthen Rotary and shape our future.” Thank you to all of you for your dedication and hard work!

Our Club was also awarded Gold Hero Status with Shelterbox. Here is the letter from Ally Buck from Shelterbox.
Good afternoon Rotary Club of North Bay,
Ally from ShelterBox Canada here. I hope this email finds you well. I'm reaching out to follow up from my last email awarding your Club with Gold Hero Status for the 2024-2025 Rotary Year to send your Impact Report. In the report, you can read about all of the ways in which ShelterBox Canada responded to disaster last year.
Thank you so much for being an instrumental part of our responses.
Yours in Rotary,
Ally B
