Women and children in Sacala Las Lomas, Guatemala, collect water from the community well. Women spend as much as five hours per day getting water. With the help of Behrhorst Partners for Development and funding from a Rotary Foundation global grant, community members plan to dig a five-and-a-half-mile (9 km) trench to install a gravity-fed water system that will deliver clean water to residents' homes.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

It was a great meeting on Monday - 3 new Rotarians on hand to do their outstanding induction talks!  Thank you to Jesse Reid, Rebecca Morin and Robyn Jackowski - and welcome to the Rotary club of North Bay family.

Foundation Chair, Bob Cunningham, shared some information about World Polio Day - October 24th - and thank you to the members for your generous donation of $170 towards Polio Plus from the Happy Twoonies!  We have a number of our members that are part of the Polio Plus Society.  If you wanted more information on this, here is the link:  What is the PolioPlus Society Challenge?  | Rotary District 7010

It's easy to set up a monthly automatic payment and as little as $10 per month is a huge help!

Please mark down November 4th in your calendar for our annual Remembrance Day Program.  The Nipissing Club members will be joining us along with other special guests from 22 Wing and Algonquin Regiment.  Please do reach out to any family and friends that you would like to invite as this is definitely a program we want to share with others.  Invite a Veteran!
