Monday's meeting showcased the 75th annual Rose Day. Chair Steve Wright gave a great presentation giving us some history on this annual event and talked about how the funds generated go to help in many areas as these funds are not restricted so we can use for our International Committee as well as local initiatives as needed. I had the pleasure of working with Tala, our outbound Youth Exchange student, as my helper. She greeted people at the door with a wonderful smile and was pleased to hear that the deliveries were ordered by our members and the recipients were not aware of the delivery. The smiles on the faces of the people at the door made the dreary, rainy day so much brighter. Tala made friends at each home - especially the homes with the 4 legged inhabitants. We drove around Corbeil and Astorville area so saw lots of wildlife (stopped to talk to some deer at the side of the road), got totally lost a time or two but overall it was a great day and such a pleasure to get to know Tala better. She will truly be a great ambassador for our club and Canada when she gets to Taiwan.

Sgt. At Arms, Steve, gave us some information on a Rotary Fellowship - one of hundreds - which was quite interesting. Follow this link to read more: How our Composting Fellowship helps communities build sustainable solutions – Service in Action

I hope you all read President Jeff's email from earlier in the week. In case you missed it or it went into your junk by error, I think it is important to share this amazing news here in the bulletin:
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I am thrilled to share an outstanding update from the Membership Committee, which officially caps off a truly memorable year of growth for our Club. With our newest member, we have reached TEN (10) persons added to our Club membership during this Rotary year. This is possibly the highest number the committee has seen in recent memory, a testament to the Club's vitality and the hard work of all involved.
Our tenth addition is Brittany (Chaput) Groccia, a former President of the North Bay-Nipissing Rotaract Club. Brittany is a Lawyer in the Crown Attorney's Office here in North Bay and is joining us as a 'Reactivate/Transfer In' to continue the good work of Rotary. As this is a transfer-in, no 7 day waiting period is required.
We should also take the time to welcome Robyn Jankowski, Shaun Billingsley, Tamika Daniels, Melinda Germon, Kenneth Igelige, Maria Parra, Jesse Reid, Ngozi Uleanya, and Christina DeRoce
Please join me in extending a sincere thank you to Jeff Celentano for his instrumental leadership and dedication as Chair of the Membership Committee, which directly led to achieving this challenging target. As Jeff steps away from the Chair’s role, we welcome Steve Sampson to lead the committee, and we look forward to building on the incredible momentum Jeff has created into the next Rotary year and beyond.
Welcome all and looking forward to all the good work we can do both locally and in our international family of Rotary!
Watch for updates on upcoming vocational talks from our newer members!

Over the past few years, we have had numerous discussions regarding what the membership would like to see in our club and one thing that kept coming up over and over was “more fellowship events”. Our Fellowship Committee has put together a family/friends get together for Monday, June 29th and Bill Hagborg has sent out an email to sign up so we have a good idea of how many will be attending so we have enough food for all - there is nothing worse than a hungry Rotarian, right?
So, it is a bit frustrating when the committee has worked hard to put together this event and very few responses have come back. Please take the time to go into the link below and confirm your attendance. This event is put on because of the ask of members to have “meetings” where we get to know each other better, have some great conversation and build on our fellowship. No guest speaker, no Rotary business scheduled…… just come out and get to know each other better - enjoy, have fun and celebrate the end of another amazing Rotary year with ideas of how to make the next Rotary year even better!
This event is open to family and friends as well!

Please RSVP by the end of the day on June 25th.
Please note there will be no noon meeting that day.
