February is Rotary's focus on Peace & Conflict Resolution. Rotary is committed to work in promoting Peace around the world through many different areas. Clubs around the world took on projects involving planting Peace Poles to bring attention to their own communities and world-wide through Rotary's programs.
Here are some web sites to check out to see what Rotary is doing to promote Peace:
Sgt. At Arms Steve talked about Rotary's Adventures in Understanding at our meeting on Tuesday. We have sponsored students to attend this wonderful program and the response was that it was a truly enlightening and educational time. Our Youth Committee sends out invitations to students to our local high schools to take part in this great adventure. Here is the web site for more information:
To those that have registered for the joint meeting with Nipissing Club on February 4th at Average Joes - Thank you! Please note that this joint meeting is in place of our regular Tuesday meeting. Let's make sure we have a good number of our members out to share stories and ideas with the Nipissing Club.
This gathering is about fellowship, strengthening relationships, and enjoying time with fellow Rotarians and Friends of Rotary in a relaxed and welcoming setting. While Zoom will be available as usual, we strongly encourage members and guests to attend in person, as face-to-face connection is what will truly make this joint meeting a success.
Please complete the online registration and use the Guest option. Please RSVP ASAP!
February 10th is our annual Great Student Awards! Come out to celebrate some of the amazing youth in our community that demonstrate Rotary's Service Above Self. The meeting is taking place in The Grande so enter off Main St. The event starts at noon and there will be students and their families attending.
Please note that I will be away on the Rotary Humanitarian trip through HHART and not back until February 18th so there will be no bulletin for two weeks. Please visit our Club's website for the calendar of events.
I will see you on Monday, February 23rd at noon. Remember we are going back to Monday meetings on Feb. 23rd.
Here is the Zoom link in case you cannot make it in person:
