ROTARY CLUB OF NORTH BAY - WEEKLY BULLETIN
September 20, 2026
Basic Education and Literacy Focus
Thank you to Maurice Switzer for his presentation this past meeting on what our Literacy Committee is doing in our community. Our club is proud to support the Santa Fund again this year and look forward to seeing many Rotarians out to help with the packing.
Our club has been approved for a District Grant towards this project and through our generous members, the contributions made to Foundation from 3 years ago come back to our club to use funds for projects. This is one way you can really see how contributing to Foundation allows us to continue to support projects both local and international.
September 21st- Welcome to Jo-Jo Bollinger to talk to us about her passion - WISE - her project in Zambia. A non-profit dedicated to empowering vulnerable women and children.
September 28th - NBRH - Kate Merritt-Dupell and Ryan Jeffers to give us an update
Olaia was treated to a personal tour of a North Bay fire station. Alas, she was not able to drive the truck as she does not have a driver's license but she was able to gear up and be ready for any emergency! Thank you to her host family for this opportunity. Caleb is a firefighter with the City of North Bay so she did have an “in”.
I had the pleasure of taking Olaia and her host family “sister” Nova to the Welcome to North Bay event where Olaia was able to see all that our city has to offer and she was very impressed. She left with two bags full and is realizing she will need another suitcase to get back home. I think by the end of her exchange, she may need 2 more! The event was such a great success - so many tables with all the different services that we have here in North Bay. Everything from children's activities, adult / senior support, tables to expand our awareness of all the different cultures that make up our city. We had a lot of traffic stopping by the Rotary table and a huge thank you to Rotary Club of Nipissing partnering to talk about Rotary to the community.
Join Stockfish Ford on Saturday, September 26 for a Family Fun Day and FREE BBQ while you help fund Phase 3 of North Bay’s Family of Rotary Splash Pad and Accessible Playground.
