Fall is in the air.....  I came back from our road trip to the east coast and noticed the leaves are changing already.  My travels to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island were amazing.  One item ticked off my bucket list now.

I was sorry to hear that the meeting on Monday was not recorded so I cannot send you the link to see it.  I hope it was a great meeting but am sure that after all the time we could not have in-person meetings it was still nice to have time with friends to chat.

Here are some news items I wanted to share with you.

1.  Rotary Club of Nipissing has arranged a tour and lunch with Canadore President, George Burton on October 6th from 11:45-2:00.  Lunch will be provided by Canadore and all our members are welcome.  The ask is to please register so they can prepare for it.  If you have any questions, please do call President Mark Lamontagne at 705-498-9518 or you can register directly at:  https://portal.clubrunner.ca/213/Event/canadore-luncheon-and-technology-tour

2.  Guess who is coming to Guatemala in February 2023? Rotary International President Jennifer Jones. The first female RI President, a Canadian Rotarian from the Windsor-Roseland club and a long-time supporter of the Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP). She will be joining the GLP Tour for a few days. The tour runs from February 4 to 12.  If you would like to take part in this amazing trip, you can talk to our very own Colin Thacker.

3.  There is a huge ask from Rotary Club of Nipissing - they have arranged a small student exchange group from Costa Rica and have need of someone from North Bay area who could drive down to the airport to pick up the students, take them to the CN Tower, ROM then drive back to North Bay with them.  The person who was scheduled for this had to opt out so they are in a bind.  The cost of fuel, hotel and the tours is covered by the Club so there is no out of pocket expense to you.  If you are able to help out with this or know of someone who could do this, please contact Mark Lamontagne at marklamontagne1@gmail.com or 705-498-9518.

4.  We are looking for members that can take on the position of Youth Exchange for the Club.  Natalie MacDougall had run this committee for some time but has stepped away from Rotary so we do need someone to take this on.  We are looking at being involved with the Youth Exchange program for 2023 and if you wanted more information on what would be involved or have an interest in taking this on, please let me know.

5.  The Board does have a vacancy - we are looking for someone to take on the position of Club Service.  If you would like to be part of the decision making for our Club, please let me know.  I can give you the details on what would be involved in this position or if you can think of someone that should be approached, do let someone from the Board or myself know.

6.  Last note - District is hosting its monthly "Frankie's Friendly Fireside Fellowship Chats" the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 P.M....... here is the    Zoom Link
