Weekly Bulletin - March 30, 2023

Our Program Speaker on Monday was Chitra Gowda from the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority giving us some updates on our local water supply.  If you missed her presentation, here is the link for the recording of her presentation:  Drinking Water Source Protection Presentation

We also heard about the partnership with the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre on the Miskwaadesi project outlined with the help of our member, Maurice Switzer.

Jeff Rogerson updated us on Rotary4Kids so do check out your emails as they come out this week so you can promote and support this amazing committee.  March 31 is the Grand Finale and the committee has done an incredible job with raising awareness of what Rotary4Kids has been able to accomplish and how many families the funds raised has helped.  Please support the work of this committee by signing up to help out at the radio station 90.5 (located at 122 Main St E) on Thursday with taking donations and then on Friday at the YMCA for the final push.  Please contact the committee if you have any questions.

District news - There is a Friendship Exchange planned to India in mid-November.  A group from India will be coming to Sudbury, Barrie in May so you may see a group come to one of our meetings.

District Grant applications will be starting up for the upcoming year so any committees looking for funding, please either take the Grant Certification course to be able to submit grants or contact Colin Thacker or myself for information as we are the two Club members that have completed the certification so far.  This is a great way to get a return on our investment into Rotary.  The District Grant is a 2:1 ratio to a maximum of $2000.
