During the month of May we celebrate our Rotary youth programs. Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-19 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. Here one exchange student's story:
Important notice: As of our May 4th meeting, we will not be meeting in the Map Room due to construction in Cecil's Restaurant. We will need to access via Main St. - The Grande
*** No meeting on Monday, May 25th - there will be a New Member Open House on Tuesday, May 26th*****
We will be hosting our New Member Social at Average Joe's in the lower event room starting at 4:30. For our club to continue growing and serving our community at a high level, we need to continue sharing our mission with others. More members means more ideas, more energy, more connections!
Bring a friend, co-worker, family member to hear about the work our club does and why “Service Above Self” is the reason we are Rotarians!
YMCA will be present as well to give us an update on Camp Tillicum!
June 6th - Camp Tillicum Spring Clean Up - this annual event has been a lot of fun over the years with great fellowship and some hard work but so worth it at the end when we get treated to a BBQ! Start time is 9:00 AM and we should be finished up in time for 12:00 lunch! Address is 774 Tillicum Bay Rd. Please bring tools such as rakes, wheelbarrows, maybe a chainsaw or two???? and gloves!
June 20th - Annual Rose Day - yes, a day to treat your friends, family, co-workers and business associates to a dozen roses! This is a fundraiser that helps with international service projects, local community projects and some of the Club's administrative costs. Send a dozen roses to someone special - details on how to follow!
Keep an eye on your email inbox on or about June 1st, as members will be receiving an invoice for our annual club dues for Rotary year 2026-2027. Payment to continue your Rotary membership should be received by Friday, June 19, 2026. If you do not intend on renewing your membership, please send an email to rotaryclubofnorthbay@gmail.comno later than June 19th. It is important to pay your dues by the deadline as the club has strict payment deadlines with Rotary International and District 7010, and we do not want to make unnecessary payments for those who have decided to discontinue their membership.
The John Lewis Memorial Rotarian of the Year award honours a member who exemplifies “Service Above Self” and demonstrates outstanding contributions to their club and community.
